Microblading vs Machine

So what's the difference?

It’s very simple. Both are tattooing techniques, one by hand, and one by machine.

Microblading is one of the oldest forms of tattooing and uses a hand tool method which is quieter and more calming than a machine. This type of brow results in VERY FINE AND NATURAL looking hair simulation.

It uses the body’s pendulum motion, pulling the tool through the skin.  It’s also known as Feather Brows, Embroidery Brows, 3D Brows, and Brow Etching, but don’t be fooled. They are the same thing.

You can achieve hair strokes or shading with this technique depending on the artist’s skill level. Shauna is trained in all modalities and will customize the right look for you.

BEAUTYINK® Microblading will last several years depending on the pigment deposit, then fade slowly and blur over time.

One session will last about 12 months, and a follow up is recommended for a long lasting look. Our clients generally return every 3-6 years for a refresh appointment making this a fabulous return on your beauty investment.

Machine Methods use either a rotary or a digital device with an oscillating motion that runs the needle up and down, perforating the skin with pigment.

Hair strokes would be difficult to differentiate between the machine and the microblading technique at a glance.

These simulated hairs are not “mirror images” from one brow to another. They flow with the natural hairs growing in that area. This is one of the ways to create a natural look, and it can last up to 3 years depending on your lifestyle and personal metabolism.

Shading/Powder fill with a machine is covering the brow design with a consistent colour to create a uniformed look. The edges are crisp and defined resulting in a more clean look. The fronts can be softened for a ombre’ effect.

These solid fills contain more pigment and will hold the colour in the skin longer but with less ability for modification in the future.

Do you know the difference?

Powder Fill

A powder filled brow is a soft, structured looking brow mimicking the use of eye shadow or a smudged look. The brow shape is created and filled in and will soften as it heals. This is great for those wanting a defined, natural “makeup look”. A refresh is recommended every 3 years.

We recommend 1-2 sessions for the completed look, but you will see noticeable results in one session.

Nano Hair Strokes

BEAUTYINK® Nano Stroke Brow

This brow is created using the same type of equipment as a powder brow or solid fill brow but just using a single needle. Once your shape has been drawn, each hair stroke is individually implanted with pigment to give the appearance of “hairs.”  This is great for those wanting a stronger, more natural look. A refresh is recommended every 2-3 years.

We recommend 2-3 sessions for the completed look, but you will see noticeable results in one session.

Hybrid Brow

Hybrid Eyebrows

A hybrid brow is a combination of hair strokes and powder shading which is fabulous for those who that have sectional hair loss within their brows and need targeted density. This combination can look very natural when combined with the person’s existing hair.

We recommend 2-3 sessions for the completed look, but you will see noticeable results in one session.

                                             Benefits of Eyebrow Tattooing

Eyebrow tattooing, also known as microblading or eyebrow embroidery, is a cosmetic procedure that involves depositing pigments into the skin to create the appearance of fuller, well-defined eyebrows. Here are some potential benefits of eyebrow tattooing:

  1. Enhanced Brow Shape and Definition: Eyebrow tattooing can help create a more defined and symmetrical shape for your eyebrows. The procedure can fill in sparse areas, correct asymmetry, and improve the overall appearance of your brows. It can give your face a more polished and groomed look.

  2. Time-Saving: One of the major advantages of eyebrow tattooing is that it saves time in your daily makeup routine. You won’t need to spend as much time filling in your brows with pencils or powders since the tattooed eyebrows will already have a defined shape and color. This can be especially beneficial for individuals with thin or overplucked eyebrows.

  3. Natural-Looking Results: Skilled professionals can create eyebrow tattoos that closely resemble natural eyebrow hairs, resulting in a more realistic and natural appearance. The tattooed eyebrows can blend seamlessly with your existing brow hairs, making them indistinguishable from the real thing.

  4. Long-Lasting Results: Eyebrow tattoos are semi-permanent and can last for one to three years, depending on individual factors and aftercare. This means you won’t have to worry about daily maintenance or touch-ups as you would with traditional brow makeup.

  5. Confidence Boost: Well-shaped and defined eyebrows can enhance your overall facial features and contribute to a more balanced and attractive appearance. Eyebrow tattooing can help boost your confidence by providing you with eyebrows that frame your face beautifully and make you feel more put together.

  6. Convenience: With eyebrow tattooing, you don’t have to worry about your eyebrows smudging, fading, or rubbing off, even during activities like swimming or exercising. The pigments used in the procedure are designed to be long-lasting and resistant to fading, giving you peace of mind and convenience in your daily life.

It’s important to note that choosing a skilled and experienced professional to perform the procedure is crucial to achieve desirable results. Additionally, individual experiences with eyebrow tattooing can vary, and it’s essential to communicate your desired brow shape and color with the artist beforehand. They can help guide you in selecting the right technique and shade that best suits your facial features and preferences.
