Excellent value for the quality of care and workmanship you receive.” – Cindy Park

The healing process for everyone is different, depending on your body and health. Some people will heal faster than others, some people will have swelling, and some people won’t. It’s as individual as you are, and the healing process takes on average 10-14 days, but could be less or more depending on your body’s healing rate. You basically will not get them wet and limit anything in your life during this time that will cause you to sweat.

The work can last up to 6 years or more, depending on the style and technique all things we discuss during your consultation. Hair micro strokes look the most natural and start to fade much faster ie 1-2+ years, powder fill  have more pigment deposit and can last up to 3+ years and a solid fill which is a much heavier and dense of a look can last up to 3-5+ years, but refresh work will be needed before hand to enhance the faded colour for sure.

Yes, absolutely most people come in every 1-3 years for a refresh. Lighter colours fade faster and break down easier in the skin, so if your blonde your retouches will generally be 1-2 years, the warm and light molecules of colour will fade firster and you will be left with a light looking colour. At that time you’ll know it’s time for a refresh to put the warmth back in.

On the first procedure we always book out for 3 hours to allow for the following and the follow up is generally 2.5 hours or less:
  • The service time depend totally on you. We take our time to make sure you are as informed and comfortable as possible.
  • 30 minutes to 1 hour for consultation, questions and creating your new look. 5 to 10 minutes for paperwork and questions.
  • 30 minutes numbing cream for your comfort. Feel free to just nap, but your welcome to read a magazine or play on your phone, whatever makes you the most comfortable.
  • 30 minutes to 1.5 hours for procedure, depending on the clients comfort and response to anesthetic.
  • 10-15 minutes to explain after care and to answer questions. We book our procedures at 11am & 4pm Thursday – Saturday only with consults all day Wednesday by appointment only.
  • No touching that’s how you will get and infection. Only washed hand with soap for 30 second can touch your new work and this is just to apply the after care.
  • No Make up of any kind on the area treated until it completely heals in.
  • No soaking in water. This means no showers at all costs, we recommend bathing until your work has healed any moisture will retard the healing and cause the pigment to all out.
  • No heavy sweating. Avoid heavy work outs and bacteria filled gym or yoga environments.
  • Avoid the sun and tanning beds and any spa or hair services until it’s healed.
  • No plane travel while healing, to avoid bacterial infections.
  • No massages or salon services for 2 weeks after. Treat it like an open wound. Keep it clean, dry, and moist with the aftercare provided.
  • No other product on treated area, except what’s given in the aftercare. Antibiotic ointments should NEVER be used, this may cause festering and unwanted reactions as we are trying to put a foreign element into the skin, not heal an infection and the body will respond negatively.

No, not everyone requires a touch up. When you purchase a Brows or Liner service, all additional touch ups start at $200 within 3 months from the service date. For our other services the prices will vary on the treatment area.

As many do not require a touch up, the results depend on your ability to firmly follow the aftercare and your skins response to the pigment.

All BEAUTYINK® will fade with time depending on the procedure and aftercare some will fade faster than others depending on your life sun, swimming, face creams used etc. A follow up session will ensure more longevity. Black will never look as dark once it heals in because the layer of skin over the top will soften the colour. If you have cool skin tones the colour will look much greyer in the skin so dark brown’s are recommended.

NO! This is our most popular question. Most our clients fall asleep as it’s quite relaxing here. We do everything in our power to make the experience as comfortable as possible for you and your comfort is paramount to the success of your work. We use multiple anesthetics pre and during so you should feel minimal sensation. Most people describe it as pressure, tickling or a slight sting after much like a sunburn, so your welcome to bring any pain management you see fit to take AFTER once the freezing has worn off. Shauna personally tattoo’s her own face and there would be no way she could do her brows or liner if it hurts, but that being said all people respond differently and that’s why we take our time. Exercise, caffeine, spicy foods, omega oils and anti inflammatory like Advil will hinder your freezing response, so prep accordingly. Please read the PRE & POST care so you are well informed.

“During my first time, it was so comfortable and NOT PAINFUL at all I was so surprised!!!” – Christine Chong

Yes, there is street parking with meters and because it is limited to 2 hours, we ask you pay $6 with coins first, then take a pic of your plate and meter number and we can add any additional time with the Pay By Phone APP.

If you use the app first, only put in for 90 minutes and we will add more time once the meter expires or you will be ticketed!

PLEASE DON’T ADD the full 2 hours on the APP we will not be able to add more time thereafter.

Is it tattooing? Fact Sheet: Microblading

With the sudden popularity and media attention to the term microblading, many are led to believe microblading is not a tattoo process. Permanent cosmetics, micro-pigmentation, dermal implantation, microblading/microstroking, eyebrow embroidery, and long-time/long-lasting makeup, are all different names for the same procedure – cosmetic tattooing. Any time color is placed into the skin with any device, it is a tattoo process as defined by many well- informed regulators, the medical community, and dictionary sources. Denying this process is a tattoo can be problematic for those who would, for religious or other personal reasons, normally refuse to have a tattoo.

Is a blade being used to perform the microblading tattoo procedure?

Microblading is performed with a grouping or configuration of needles affixed to a handle to manually create lines that resemble eyebrow hairs. Manual methods of tattooing have been used through the ages, and the tools have gone through changes over time from pre-historic sharpened stones to the hand tool devices currently being used. An actual scalpel or cutting-type blade should not be used under any circumstances as these are considered medical devices and cannot legitimately be used for this process. Any hand tool device (i.e., both handle and attached needles) used for microblading should be pre-sterilized and fully disposable.

Is it semi-permanent?

Some are promoting microblading or eyebrow embroidery as a semi-permanent process; and that the color only reaches the epidermal (outer) layer of the skin. A careful review of basic skin anatomy and physiology would reveal this is not true. By definition and tattoo industry standards, color is tattooed/implanted into the dermis of the skin. If pigment particles do not reach the dermis, they will disappear during the healing phase of the skin, during normal regeneration of cells at the epidermal level. Pigments do fade in the skin over time, but that does not make the process semi-permanent. It is impossible to predict how much pigment will fade away and how long it will take to do so with any measure of consistency or reliability.

Why does microblading not last as long as other eyebrow tattooing techniques?

This is simply because a much smaller amount of pigment is inserted (tattooed) into the skin as compared to fully or solidly filled eyebrow tattoos.

Our procedures vary depending on the look your desiring.

BROWS: Microbladed brows 1-3+ years, Powder brows up to 3+ years, Solid fills up to 3-5+ years.

LINER: in the lash line 1 session a year with the follow up 1-3+ years. Fancy over liner to look like make up 1-3+ years and this requires the package with a follow up. Think of your nail polish and how it layers. BEAUTYINK® is very much the same the more layers the denser the colour.

SMP: 3-5+ Years generally

3D AREOLA & Paramedical Scar Camouflage Revision: 3-5+ years

Please read through the pre and post care notes so you are well informed as to what is required from you to complete a successful procedure.

No, unfortunately don’t. We accept Visa or MasterCard as well as Debit and E Transfer as payment.
Yes, with most people the colour will change over time. Generally it will fade to a softer, cooler version or depending on the acidity of your blood may ash out (goes grayish) over time and then you know it’s time for a refresh where we put back the warm tones that leave the skin faster than the dark tones. Black can turn to blue over time and this can be corrected. We strongly recommend you refresh your work annually, but that completely depend on you. All pigments are semi permanent and fall out of the skin as the skin naturally sheds, because the pigment molecules have different sizes the lighter IE: yellow or orange fall out first, so if your a blonde you colour will fade faster than someone who has dark drown hair.
ABSOLUTELY! Yes of course, we encourage it, whatever is most comfortable for you. We will however do the consultation again prior to any procedure to make certain you receive the look you want. You will be asked to wear your make up as you did in the first consult so we can be certain of the look you desire, just better!

No, if someone is new to the industry and does not already have a minimum of 100 hours of training in permanent cosmetics, they need to have a similar amount of training in microblading, even if it is for just that one type of procedure.

There are many areas of study when learning these techniques, which include facial morphology and bone structure, brow shaping and design, color analysis, color theory, proper handling of equipment, prevention of cross-contamination, as well as practice work and the opportunity to observe procedures before actually performing them under supervision.

Anyone interested in pursuing training in cosmetic tattooing, including microblading, should first check with state, province and county regulating agencies. This would also include verifying the qualifications of any trainer, in addition to checking with regulatory agencies for trainer compliance with local health, safety, or permit requirements if the trainer is traveling from another state or country to offer training.

"I've been a client of Shauna's for 10 years or so now. There's no one I would trust more to do my permanent make-up. I love my eyebrows! Every experience I've had has been amazing. Thank you so much, Shauna!"

Nathalie N

"Shauna did an amazing job of my eyebrows, I am so happy with them! They look so natural, they were exactly what I wanted! I am thrilled with her work. She is a very kind person and takes her time to make sure they are perfect. Her work far exceeded my expectations.

Chrissy C

"I am 6 weeks post-refresh for brows and liner. I am so pleased with Shauna's work. She was great about working with me to achieve the right colour and look. On my second visit she shaded some areas in addition to microblading to get the right balance of density. She takes great care in making sure her space is clean and sterile. Shauna is truly talented and her work is exceptional.

Thank you Shauna!!"

Jessica Fudge

"I will be having my eyeliner done by Shauna for the second time tomorrow. I can hardly wait. She has done my brows and liner, also my daughter's brows. She is the best, no doubt! Very professional, very precise and very knowledgeable in what she does. I have recommended two of my friends to her and they are also very happy with the results and hopefully, will be return clients as well. Thank you Shauna, looking forward to seeing you again."

Linda Paterson

"As a Hairstylist turned Registered Nurse, I have high standards when it comes to beauty procedures. Somehow my second brow experience today outshone the first! Not only is Shauna a ridiculously talent artist, she takes every (I mean e.v.e.r.y) hygienic precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of her clients. If that weren’t enough, it is evident that she has a passion both for the elevation her art and ensuring her that clients’ needs are met in a most caring and holistic way. She takes every painstaking detail to attention and is not driven merely by how many clients she can get in and out the front door. If you’re looking for an amazing overall experience and high quality results, look no further than Shauna @ BEAUTYINK®."

Christy Macdonald

"I was Shauna's last client before Christmas break and I came to get microblading done on my eyebrows. I have alopecia and not only did she do such a fantastic job (I cried because I was so happy!) her easy going personality made the experience that much better. She really is talented and explains the after care instructions thoroughly, as well as calling to check in a week later to make sure everything is healing OK. Really great work and excellent service, I highly recommend!"

Paige Wilson

"I really wanted a thin eyeliner tattoo that will make my eyes look awake without the makeup. So I searched on Google and Instagram for certified permanent makeup artist. With good reviews and amazing Instagram pictures, I found Shauna/ BEAUTYINK® Vancouver. I compared every artist's portfolio and I go for the best as per my research, since I will not forgive myself if I mess my face.

My husband drove me from Surrey to Vancouver. Her clinic is very clean with a calm vibe. Shauna is very sweet and knowledgeable and guide me all the way. During the procedure I fallen asleep twice LOL. I attached my picture before and after, taken by Shauna. My husband loves my eyeliner, too. He said the lines looks natural and my lashes look thicker.

Now my eyeliner tattoo is healed and I love it, sometimes if I'm a hurry in the morning, I just need a lipstick and I'm good to go. Thanks Shauna, you just earned a loyal customer here. Mwaaah!"
